This painting was made during a stay in Stockholm, Sweden in response to a series of poems by Aaron Mendelson; The Bury, about growing up biracial in Boston in the 1960s and 70s. This work together with Poetic License IV and VI were to be part of a group show during Spring 2020 cancelled because of Covid-19. Only in connection with the show did I come up with a solution of how to display the work.
